Plinio, l. 33. c. 5. humor est in puteis, per venam auri defluens, crassescente limô rigoribus hyberms, usque in duritiam pumicis. Hinc non tam lapis, quam inter salis species, Salmasio, Laudatior in aerariis metallis, Demonesi Insul. ipprimis, quae proiu carissima. Sed et in Armenia optimam nasci Plinius, loc. cit. et Dioscorides tradunt: summam autem commendat onis esse, ut coloreml herbae segetis laete virentis quam simillime reddat. Qui summus et acutissimus viroris gradus est, qualis prasinus et ad plenum porraceus. Atque haec contra aurum vaenibat, et inter colores habebatur, quos pictori tectorique dominus praebere tenebatur, Plinius, l. 35. c. 6. Usus enim in pictura eius, quis fuerit, fuse idem explicat, c. 5. Sed et Aurifices sibi vendicabant agglutinando auro, unde etiam ei nomen, quasi auri gluten.
